Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Minimum three certificates from related institutions reflecting completion of maintenance related courses, such as: BOMA, IREM and/or vocational programs.
  • Available for on-call services and weekends.
  • Minimum of three to four years experience and/or training in apartment maintenance.
  • Mastered the basics of plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience.
  • Ability to speak, communicate, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace including, but not limited to, English in order to maintain safety in the workplace and serve internal and external customers.
  • Basic computer proficiency and understanding of building materials and tools.
  • Able to use Yardi and manage work orders through technical systems.
  • Requires standing, climbing, balancing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Some work tasks are performed outdoors.
  • Temperature is moderate.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all general apartment maintenance in order to maintain and preserve the Neighborhood and to provide a quality living environment for our Neighbors.
  • Ensure Neighbors feel at HOME, ridiculously well-cared for and genuinely proud to live in our Neighborhoods.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all phases of apartment turnovers and troubleshooting/repairs of most major and all minor mechanical systems.
  • Help with scheduling outside vendors, tracking budgets and financials, and perform administrative support duties for all maintenance related activities.
  • Mentoring others, providing guidance and leadership to your team.
  • Help the Neighborhood achieve their financial goals through managing costs and being resourceful.
  • Lead by example, setting the standard for the team.
