About The Position

The Neighbor Service Technician III is responsible for all general apartment maintenance in order to maintain and preserve the Neighborhood and to provide a quality living environment for our Neighbors. This role involves the timely completion of all phases of apartment turnovers and troubleshooting/repairs of most major and all minor mechanical systems. The technician will also assist with scheduling outside vendors, tracking budgets and financials, and perform administrative support duties for all maintenance-related activities. As a lead, this individual will mentor others, provide guidance and leadership to the team, and help the Neighborhood achieve their financial goals through managing costs and being resourceful.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum three certificates from related institutions reflecting completion of maintenance-related courses (e.g., BOMA, IREM, vocational programs).
  • Minimum of three to four years experience and/or training in apartment maintenance.
  • Mastery of the basics of plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience.
  • Ability to speak, communicate, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace (including English) to maintain safety and serve customers.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Understanding of building materials and tools.
  • Ability to use Yardi and manage work orders through technical systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of supervisory experience is preferred.
