About The Position

The Maintenance Technician III performs a wide range of maintenance operations including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, and refrigeration. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial equipment, as well as performing regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities. The technician will respond to work requests, maintain and repair various machinery, and ensure a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and SOPs. Additionally, the role includes performing routine checks, evaluating maintenance needs, providing recommendations for facility improvements, organizing spare parts, and performing minor construction and installation. This position also involves training and coaching team members, responding to emergencies, detecting faulty operations, and performing both emergency and scheduled repairs on production equipment. The technician will also be involved in project planning, participating in production improvement processes, demonstrating root cause analysis, and potentially creating drawings, diagrams, and schematics. Other related duties as assigned by management are also part of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, industrial and PLC experience required.
  • Previous experience with five (5) to twenty (20) ton A/C units.
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • HVAC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and refrigeration operations including, but not limited to installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining commercial and industrial equipment.
  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Responds to work requests by performing and completing general facilities repairs in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and repairs various machinery and equipment.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and wearing protective equipment as required.
  • Performs routine checks and evaluates necessary maintenance to the facilities.
  • Provides recommendations for facilities improvements.
  • Maintains and organizes spare parts and consumables.
  • Performs minor construction and installation of fixtures and accessories.
  • Trains and coaches internal team members.
  • Responds quickly in the event of an emergency, notifying appropriate personnel and following safety protocols.
  • Detects faulty operations, defective materials and reports those and any unusual situations to appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance of production equipment during machine service.
  • Provides materials lists, method plans and schedules for small to medium sized projects.
  • Participates and is actively involved in the production improvement process.
  • Demonstrates root cause analysis techniques and recommends Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) procedures.
  • May create drawings, diagrams and schematics after analyzing data.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
