About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and cleaning the building grounds, performing routine maintenance tasks, receiving shipments, and supporting special event equipment needs. The role also involves assisting with engineering duties such as mechanical plumbing, heating, and air conditioning, as well as supporting painters and carpenters. The Maintenance Technician II is expected to work independently, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain a professional work environment. Adherence to company policies, attendance guidelines, and participation in meetings are also key aspects of the role. Duties are subject to change, and hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule. The role serves as an outstanding example and credit to Downstream Casino Resort.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old or older upon employment.
High school diploma or its equivalency required.
Two (2) years’ experience in the technical fields of appliance technician, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, painting, and flooring required.
Qualified and certified in the above referenced areas to make repairs in a building environment.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Applicants must be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
Must be able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid non-gaming license.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Maintain and clean the building grounds by sweeping lots, removing snow, mowing grass, and watering shrubbery and grass.
Keep public areas in and around the facilities free of litter and debris (meaning parking lot and outside main entrance).
Perform routine maintenance tasks at the casino daily.
Receive all incoming shipments at the casino/hotel site.
Responsible for all equipment and supply movement throughout all facilities.
Support all special event equipment needs.
Assist with all engineering duties including mechanical plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
Assist painter and carpenter as needed.
Work independently without direct supervision.
Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner always.
Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Attend all necessary meetings.
Assist in other projects.
