About The Position

Ensures safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations by performing building maintenance, utility support, and equipment repair while responding to production needs. The role maintains internal and external building systems, supports preventive maintenance, troubleshoots facility and production equipment, and works with production, maintenance, EHS, vendors, and contractors to minimize downtime and maintain a safe, compliant, and well-kept work environment. The position performs daily inspections of ammonia refrigeration equipment, maintains building utilities and plant equipment, supports wastewater pre-treatment operations, and responds to production-line issues. It also documents preventive maintenance and inspections, obtains parts and supplies, and identifies lasting solutions to equipment problems.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least two years of maintenance experience.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to weld using TIG, MIG, and Stick processes.
Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Must be able to work without relocation.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
At least two years of food manufacturing experience and/or training.
Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and/or PSM.
SAP experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair internal and external building structures and finishes, including walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, windows, roofing, and exterior surfaces.
Perform rounds and daily inspections of ammonia refrigeration equipment, including compressors, condensers, and pumps.
Inspect mechanical equipment and schedule repairs, including pumps, compressors, filling equipment, and processing equipment connected to ammonia and related cooling systems.
Operate and maintain air compressors and the plant compressed-air system.
Operate and maintain wastewater pre-treatment plant equipment, including wastewater treatment plant chemicals.
Perform preventive maintenance on building utilities and plant equipment, including ammonia systems, and accurately document completed rounds and preventive maintenance.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors on repairs and periodic inspections.
Work with EHS to document required periodic inspections of the facility, equipment, and grounds.
Change filters on HVAC equipment, air compressors, hydraulic systems, product blowers, and other equipment.
Respond to production requests for immediate attention to production-line issues and problems.
Maintain production equipment.
Maintain preventive maintenance records.
Create requisitions for parts and supplies needed to maintain equipment.
Identify problem areas and implement permanent solutions.
