Maintenance Techician II- Bed Tech Days M-F St Lukes
About The Position
Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards, documenting through the use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). This role requires a proficient level of skill to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various mechanical equipment, patient care equipment (such as beds and wheelchairs), and mechanical/electrical systems including HVAC, refrigerators, and medical gas systems. The technician will also perform general maintenance functions in groundskeeping, carpentry, and painting, and respond to emergencies like leaks, floods, and power outages. Additionally, the role involves responding to building occupant requests, conducting preventive maintenance and safety checks, and inspecting/repairing fire doors and partitions. Reading blueprints and maintenance manuals is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2-4 Years of Experience in equipment maintenance
- Driver's license required
- Basic computer skills such as CMMS, building automation system, Microsoft Office.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
- Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
- Position requires travel.
- May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
Responsibilities
- Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Documents maintenance activities through use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, and controls.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical/electrical systems such as pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas systems, and specialized water systems.
- Performs routine to moderately complex general maintenance functions in grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
- Responds and makes repairs associated with emergencies such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, and equipment failures.
- Responds to building occupant requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs zone maintenance rounding.
- Keeps requesters apprised of the status of corrective actions and service requests.
- Conducts preventive maintenance and performs equipment safety checks.
- Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, firewalls and smoke partitions.
- Reads blueprints and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.
