About The Position

Seeking a Maintenance Technician for MCTC's Rowan Campus. This is a full-time, in-person position with an amazing benefits package. Hours are 8:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday. Holidays eligible from Day 1! This position is not eligible for remote work.

Requirements

  • High school degree with 1-3 years of experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods, climb ladders and stairs, operate various equipment (e.g., forklifts, lawn mowers, snow removal tools), and perform manual tasks in both indoor and outdoor environments, including working in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work as part of a time
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently toward department goals
  • Reading & writing ability
  • Basic computer skills
  • Troubleshooting ability

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience with maintenance and operation of maintenance related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and/or responding to emergency calls and or break downs, help troubleshoot and performs corrective maintenance on all utility systems including single and 3 phase electrical circuits, lighting circuits, HVAC units, automated systems and building alarm situations.
  • Performs corrective maintenance on pneumatics, plumbing fixtures and buildings piping systems, performs basic carpentry skills and general building maintenance.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for purchases, re-order supplies and parts, and perform campus inspections.
  • Performs cleaning in the absence of custodial staff if necessary for coverage of assigned area (classrooms, offices, commons and disinfecting and maintenance of restrooms).
  • Assists with event set-up, moving of furniture and/or equipment.
  • Operates equipment ie; (forklift, lawn equipment, snow removal eq.) Maintains grounds by blowing off walks, mowing, pulling weeds in flower beds, picking up trash around campus, empty outside trash cans, salting lots walks and snow removal. (forklift and other trainings will be provided).
  • Assists with SDS labeling and removal of hazardous waste.
  • Assist with contractors repairs and safety inspections of the campus buildings.
  • Performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment such as tractors, mowing equipment and vehicles.
  • Opens and locks buildings when required.
  • Operates and maintains floor-care equipment, including walk-behind scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, carpet extractors, and other related equipment for stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, and general floor maintenance as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned including working on-call as necessary for emergency situations or as assigned.
