About The Position

Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems within a manufacturing environment; execute capital projects (installation, dismantling of equipment) and other various maintenance tasks throughout the facility with key knowledge of the equipment and minimum supervision.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of measuring gauges such as tape measures
  • Knowledge and use of calipers, micrometers and digital multimeters (required)
  • Knowledge of various hand and power tools
  • Certified to operate a forklift.
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
  • Ability to use hand & portable tools, gas and arc welder, forklift, pickup truck, testing equipment, tape measure, computer (shop floor and ERP).
  • Ability to obtain rigging training and certification (as needed).
  • Ability to obtain welding certification (as needed).
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two to Five (2-5) years related maintenance experience; relevant Technical degree or certification.
  • Must complete NFPA 70E training within 180 days of assignment.
  • Mechanical background with rotating equipment. hydraulic and pneumatic.
  • Electrical troubleshooting (motors, sensors, relays, basic PLC I/O)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the following maintenance areas preferred: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and welding.

Responsibilities

  • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair.
  • Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specific procedures.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications.
  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information within MaintainX.
  • Proper work order documentation and asset state updates in MaintainX.
  • Maintain PM Completion rate per Maintain X guidelines.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.
  • Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
  • Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse to maintain machinery and work areas.
  • Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
  • Performing ongoing preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
  • Comply and participate in regulatory, Carlisle, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).
  • Articulate to vendors/engineer’s machine issue to resolve technical issues.
  • Assist with basic electronics/ Programmable Logic Controls troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
