About The Position

This position is responsible for all facets of general maintenance. The Maintenance Technician II performs diagnostic troubleshooting on electrical, HVAC, chillers, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC's brazing furnaces, exothermic generators and mechanical equipment. They will make necessary repairs on these systems, machine tools, ancillary equipment and conveyors. This role also involves rewiring or running new power lines, welding, and tearing down and overhauling equipment components such as pumps, valves, regulators, and motors. The technician must have Stamping Press and/or Spindle Lathe experience, and knowledge of Blow Mold, Injection Mold, Vacuum forming, Foam, and Sheet Extrusion to analyze and repair equipment. They will also complete required reports and documentation, keep their work station in order, and support team objectives.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to work with RS Logic Programming with strong Microsoft Excel training
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical components and how they work in conjunction with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Must be flexible in working different shifts and be able to work a weekend schedule
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions presented in English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, engineers and co-workers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Observes all Safety policies and procedures as outlined within Newell Brands’ Safety Excellence and Leadership (SEAL) program.

  • Responsible for submitting labor hours within the Micromain system.
  • Performs diagnostic troubleshooting on electrical, HVAC, chillers, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC's brazing furnaces, exothermic generators and mechanical equipment.
