About The Position

Bear Real Estate Group is looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician II to support their stunning The Mariner located in St. Francis, WI. You will work amongst a team of professionals within a beautiful development with premium amenities. The Maintenance Technician II is a role responsible for handling more complex maintenance tasks, advanced diagnostics, and specialized repairs. This role provides leadership support by mentoring Technician I staff, overseeing turnovers, and managing preventative maintenance programs. The Technician II works with greater independence and serves as a technical resource within the community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA 608)strongly preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of residential or facilities maintenance experience.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Must provide and maintain personal hand tools required to perform job duties.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA 608)strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all routine maintenance tasks typical of Maintenance Technician, including painting, minor plumbing and electrical work, basic appliance repairs, minor HVAC repairs, turnovers, and maintaining property cleanliness and curb appeal.
  • Diagnose and repair moderate-to-complex issues in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
  • Perform and oversee preventative maintenance programs across building systems.
  • Lead and complete detailed unit turnovers, ensuring high quality and timeliness.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to technicians and staff.
  • Assisting managing larger projects such as system upgrades, renovations, or capital improvements.
  • Participate in collecting bids for repairs and projects; provide recommendations to the Property Manager.
  • Conduct and document thorough inspections of units and building systems.
  • Ensure logs for inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety systems are accurate including but not limited to snow removal logs, light inspections, elevator inspections, lift station logs, fire systems inspections, etc.
  • Track supplies, tools, and equipment usage.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for emergency and high-priority service calls.
  • Travel between properties for advanced support and project work.
  • Maintain professionalism with residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Provide cross-property support as an advanced maintenance resource.
