The Role: Perform activities concerned with maintenance of equipment and machinery in industrial plant by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematic drawings for pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain overhead bridge cranes, Jib Cranes, and other types of machinery, requiring diagnosing and making recommendations for repair.
  • Repair motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Perform monthly inspections on all production equipment and replacement parts; confer with department managers to coordinate monthly inspections.
  • Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections; repair or replace defective parts; install special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Start devices to test their performance.
  • Operate overhead and jib cranes, industrial forklifts, and man lifts.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
  • Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on-site, ability to work overtime.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
