About The Position
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join their Grounds Trails and Streams Crew. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of landscape features, including planting, vegetation management, trailside landscaping, and upkeep of natural areas. Additional responsibilities may include bench construction, finishing, and maintenance. This position offers a compensation of $26.65 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
- 1-3 years of related experience in maintenance duties and operation of machinery and equipment.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required within (6) months in good standing.
- 1-3 years of experience in trail construction, renovations, and maintenance.
- Experience in installation, maintenance, and monitoring of various types of drainage structures.
Nice To Haves
- Current IL Dept. of Agriculture Pesticide Operator's License preferred.
- IL Department of Agriculture Pesticide Operator's License within (6) months of employment.
