OnTrac is hiring a Maintenance Technician 2 – Conveyor Systems. This role is crucial for ensuring all conveyor systems are inspected, maintained, and repaired in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as company standards, and will ensure a safe working environment. Requirements

  • 3 years or greater related experience and/or training in mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • High voltage electrical experience is required.
  • Current Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Ability to learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform job duties.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Material Handling Systems (MHS), industrial conveyor systems and controls in distribution, shipping, and sorting environments, VFDs, and electronic motors (480V).
  • Possess knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PMs (Preventative Maintenance), and 3-Phase electrical work.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints.
  • Mechanical and or electrical work experience.
  • Possess knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24-hour operations, occasionally working extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds on a routine basis.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Must utilize company tools and have the ability to purchase new tools as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment to keep operations running smoothly, responding in a timely manner to all material handling systems breakdowns.
  • Maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.
  • Change and repair parts of conveyor systems, as well as rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
  • Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean-up, conveyor and equipment clean-up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Conduct daily inspections of machinery for potential problems.
  • From time to time, you may be called in after hours to ensure MHS (conveyor) systems are working at optimum capacity.
  • Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
