Maintenance Technician II performs technical work in the operation and maintenance of county-owned buildings, facilities, and athletic fields in park facilities. This role is responsible for park maintenance in designated areas, coordinating with general maintenance staff, and identifying tasks that may need to be completed. The position involves assisting with custodial duties, performing basic carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing work, and repairing playground equipment, fences, and various athletic courts. Additionally, the technician will construct and maintain sports fields, perform field maintenance on small equipment, and handle painting tasks. Ground maintenance, including raking, weeding, sodding, watering, and trash disposal, is also a key responsibility, along with trimming and removing trees. Minor construction and maintenance on athletic fields and courts, operation of lawn/turf maintenance equipment, and transporting equipment between sites are also part of the duties. Weekend overtime and rotation on-call may be required. The role may also involve obtaining construction permits and coordinating with outside contractors, as well as operating power tools for electrical service and installation, and maintaining light fixtures. Emergency response duties are also a requirement for county employees.
