The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for keeping Production, HVAC, facility equipment, and infrastructure in good working order. This role involves detecting and correcting errors before damage occurs, operating equipment as required, and potentially disassembling equipment for repair or part replacement. The technician is expected to have expertise in electrical, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics to repair sophisticated equipment. After repairs, the technician must test the machine to ensure correct and smooth operation. Responsibilities also include performing tear downs, rebuilds, and preventive maintenance, as well as participating in the development and training of Maintenance Technician I employees. The role requires working a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed based on production demands, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Adherence to and communication of Health, Safety, and Quality policies, including the use of PPE, is mandatory. Additional responsibilities for SQF Certified Sites include a basic understanding of cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices, notifying relevant personnel of required repairs or adjustments, performing basic sanitation functions, and meeting Company and Regulatory Requirements. The technician must identify and act on non-conformities related to Food Safety and Quality, control non-conforming products, and follow all Food Fraud/Food Defense Policies. A thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMPs, safety policies, HACCP, and SQF, is essential.
