About The Position

Schwan’s Company is hiring a Maintenance Technician II for its North East, Pennsylvania location. The role supports reliable operation of food production machinery and conveyor systems through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installation, and maintenance documentation. The technician uses specialized tools and precision measuring instruments to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, and works with production and operations teams to support plant workflow.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 3 years of related experience.
Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical skills, and building skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work different ranges of hours, including full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.

Nice To Haves

Two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade.

Responsibilities

Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
Perform complex mechanical repairs, including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and precision measuring instruments, and identify and resolve root causes.
Use SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
