About The Position
Performs electrical and plumbing work and other maintenance projects.
Requirements
- High school graduation or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- At least three years of experience.
- Texas Journeyman Electrician license.
- Methods, practices, and equipment used in cooling and heating systems installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Safe operation of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and written instructions
- Operate electrical and plumbing equipment
- Apply safety standards to prevent hazards
- Estimate time and materials for projects
- Communicate effectively
- Tolerate adverse working conditions
- Work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots electrical failures and removes and replaces faulty electrical components
- Changes ballasts, tubes, and light bulbs
- Performs plumbing work installs and all types of plumbing repair
- Assists with basic carpentry work including hanging pictures and plaques
- Monitors and maintains electric locks on county buildings
- Reads and interprets blueprints and written instructions
- And confers with supervisor concerning construction, alteration, maintenance, and repair projects.
- Other Duties as assigned.
