About The Position

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician II for our client, a high-purity chemical manufacturing facility supporting advanced technology and semiconductor-related processes, in Portland, OR. This role supports facility systems, utilities, and plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with the following: preventative maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, facility systems (HVAC, boilers, compressed air), and CMMS work order systems. Pay & Schedule Pay: $32–$40/hour DOE Shift: Day Shift

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–4 years of experience in industrial or facilities maintenance
  • Strong mechanical background with experience using hand and power tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to obtain Hazardous Materials Technician certification and wear required PPE including respirator
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work including standing, bending, and climbing

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Maintenance Technology or related field
  • Experience with facility systems such as HVAC, boilers, compressed air, or water treatment
  • Experience working in chemical manufacturing, semiconductor, or regulated environments
  • Experience using CMMS systems for maintenance tracking

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on facility systems including HVAC, boilers, air compressors, nitrogen systems, and water/wastewater treatment equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues impacting facility and production systems
  • Use CMMS to track, complete, and document maintenance work orders and system performance
  • Monitor equipment performance and support system reliability through routine checks and basic trend tracking
  • Coordinate with production and process teams to minimize downtime and maintain system operations
  • Assist with operation of facility systems including valves, piping, and utility equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures and support emergency response activities as needed
  • Participate in scheduled shutdowns and planned maintenance activities
