On our facilities team, your job will be to create a comfortable and safe environment — just like our patients have come to expect. As Facilities Maintenance Technician II, your efforts focus on ensuring the proper maintenance and functioning of hospital equipment, structures and systems. Ultimately, while you may not interact with patients directly, your work will leave a lasting impression on their lives and care every day. A caregiver in this position works nights from 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two years of experience in HVAC, general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting or mechanical repair OR completion of a formal training program in building repair, including HVAC, general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting or mechanical repair OR military experience as a Utilitiesman, Builder, Machinists Mate or a similar role
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to inspect equipment
  • Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Carpentry certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, structures and systems.
  • Perform minor maintenance repair work in electrical, plumbing, HVAS, carpentry and/or paint.
  • Perform utility and structural repairs.
  • Document and maintain records of inspection and work performed.
