About The Position

Kanto Corporation is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician II for our high purity chemical manufacturing facility. The Facilities Maintenance Technician II works with other maintenance technicians and the engineering team to maintain, repair, and upgrade all plant equipment and facilities – machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe systems. Ensures that the equipment and systems are working properly, reliably, and efficiently while adhering to Kanto’s Operating Priorities of Safety, Quality, and Productivity.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 4+ years of experience working as a facilities technician (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Must have experience using basic hand and power tools and working with limited supervision.
  • Must acquire or be certified as a Hazardous Materials Technician as per 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(iii), and wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator, as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and read and interpret various documents.
  • Strong mathematical skills, problem-solving skills, and reasoning ability.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for long periods and work in industrial environments.

Nice To Haves

  • AA (or in progress) as Maintenance Technician or certification training from a college or technical school preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all routine preventive maintenance (PM) orders as assigned and health checks on facility equipment, including water and wastewater treatment, scrubbers, HVAC, air compressors, boilers, nitrogen system, powered rigging equipment, etc. This includes preparation of preventative maintenance reports and recordkeeping, performing periodic checks of equipment performance and efficiency, conducting trend analysis of key operational indicators to determine optimum operation of systems and equipment, and troubleshooting equipment failures.
  • Uses the plants CMMS system to track and complete work assignments.
  • Works with Production and Process groups to coordinate work activities and minimize impacts to production. Work includes opening / closing of various valves and overall operations of equipment that impacts production and the facility systems.
  • Follows all applicable company and customer safety requirements, may participate in the company safety committee, and supports emergency responses.
  • Participates in annual maintenance assignments.
  • Requires occasional work in a clean room environment and around chemicals.
