The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for using hand and power tools to replace components, make adjustments, and calibrate machinery to resolve issues and restore equipment to operating condition quickly and efficiently. This role involves understanding and participating in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives, performing preventive maintenance, evaluating equipment for repairs and upgrades, and performing basic plumbing, carpentry, welding, and painting tasks. The technician must ensure all equipment is guarded, follow lockout/tagout procedures, work safely, and maintain inventory of supplies and spare parts. They will also participate in 5S activities, assist with hazardous waste management, and perform furniture and equipment moves. Secondary responsibilities include working with engineering on plant layouts and equipment additions, and coordinating with external contractors.
