This position is responsible for responding to and attending to guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues, and performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. The role involves visually inspecting tools and equipment, carrying equipment, and identifying and operating shut-off valves and utility shut-offs. The technician will maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts. A basic understanding or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, energy conservation, and general building maintenance is required. Responsibilities include surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas. The technician will test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other guestroom items. Programming TVs and performing general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties are also part of the role. The use of the Lockout/Tagout system is mandatory before performing maintenance work. Additionally, the role involves performing repairs on interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems, and displaying basic computer skills for tasks like inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
