About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for supporting production by maintaining bending equipment to its original design specifications. This role involves setting up lines, performing changeovers, operating specialized equipment such as Benders, Sizers, Ramformers, IO, Presses, Mille Miglia Trimmers, Saws, and Wecotech Machines, and ensuring the production of good quality product.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two to three years or CNC programming.
  • Minimum two to four years set up & operator experience in pipe/tube bending & finish equipment environment.
  • Minimum two to four years’ experience in electrical circuitry, hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
  • Minimum two to four years’ experience in machine repair & preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to adjust and teach robots software and/or path programming of benders & wecotech machines.
  • Ability to understand & use Precision Measuring Equipment.
  • Knowledge & understanding of bending terminology.
  • Assists in the development and troubleshooting of programs for preferably Motoman robots or other 6 Axis Industrial Robots.
  • Troubleshoot synchronized programs for systems.
  • Must have significant capacity for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to read and analyze technical schematics and blueprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or two year college or technical school preferred.
  • Background in CNC programming preferred.
  • Advanced skills in welding and metal forming techniques and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of all equipment used in changeovers and setup of benders.
  • Troubleshoot, fix, repair and evaluate program logic of Benders.
  • Read blueprints to identify X/Y coordinates of equipment for software setup.
  • Setup, troubleshoot, adjust and teach robots software and/or path programming to meet operational needs and increase productivity while reducing cycle time of the benders and related equipment.
  • Plan/schedule changeovers of all cells.
  • Repair & execute preventive maintenance on production equipment such as troubleshooting, fixing, repairing.
  • Able to evaluate program logic & teach pendants equipment, electrical twisters and blueprints.
  • Works closely with Engineers to support the improvement projects and program launch.
  • Train operators on proper changeovers including participation and planning.
  • Identify, report and perform all mechanical functions/maintenance activities on machinery in bending.
  • Proper handling & clean up of hydraulic oil/rags on machinery and hazmat area.
  • Ensure PM’s are completed on time.
  • Ensure all Work Orders are completed on time.
  • Complete changeovers correctly and within specified time frame.
  • Communicate downtime & scrap issues on LPS & with Maintenance Manager.
  • Continuous improvement to reduce downtime & scrap numbers.
  • Ensure all consumables are signed/scanned out and alert MRO when last item is taken.
  • Train where necessary.
  • Any mechanical activity deemed necessary to keep machines running.
  • Conduct all business-related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Supports the Continuous Improvement Process.
  • Understand scrap factors and influences on the delivery times.
  • Read & interpret blueprints and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, control settings & operational sequence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
