OnTrac is hiring a Maintenance Technician I – Conveyor Systems in Logan Township. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, technical degree or trade school certificate preferred.
  • 1 year of related experience and / or training in industrial maintenance, automated conveyor systems, material handling equipment or equivalent.
  • Exposure to high voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds routinely.
  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform job duties.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of material handling systems, industrial conveyor systems and controls in distribution, shipping, and sorting environments, VFDs, and electronic motors (480V).
  • Possess knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures, Preventative Maintenance, and 3-Phase electrical work.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude and work experience.
  • Possess knowledge of OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment to keep operations running smoothly, responding in a timely manner to all material handling systems breakdowns.
  • Maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.
  • Change and repair parts of conveyor systems, as well as rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
  • Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform housekeeping duties including work area clean-up, conveyor and equipment clean-up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Conduct daily inspections of machinery for potential problems.
  • From time to time, you may be called in after hours to ensure material handling and conveyor systems are working at optimum capacity.
  • Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
