About The Position

The Town of Davie has transitioned to a four (4) day work week schedule (10 hours per day). Hours of work are Monday through Thursday from 6:30am-5:00pm. This role participates in various building maintenance tasks including carpentry, pressure cleaning, painting, and masonry. It also involves the maintenance and repair of Town roads, trails, sidewalks, park areas, and facilities. The position operates mowers, tractors, and various powered equipment such as chain saws, weed eaters, blowers, and power pruners. Responsibilities include grounds and facility maintenance such as mowing, litter removal, weed control, fertilizing, pruning, and planting. The role also involves transporting and moving furniture and equipment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
  • One (1) or more years of work experience.
  • Possession of a valid Class "E" Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Driver's license must not have been suspended within five (5) years of the date of this application (Not Insurance related ).
  • Successfully meeting the minimum requirements of an oral assessment.
  • Successfully meeting the minimum requirements of a background investigation.
  • Successfully meeting the minimum requirements of a medical examination which includes a drug screening test and physical examination.
  • Must obtain and submit your lifetime driving history record if selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a valid Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the State of Florida preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in various carpentry, pressure cleaning, painting, masonry, and other building maintenance tasks as required.
  • Participate in the maintenance and repair of Town roads, trails, sidewalks, park areas and facilities.

  • Performs grounds and facility maintenance work, such as, mowing, litter removal, weed control, fertilizing, pruning, and planting.
