About The Position

At HGV, we are seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join the team at the Hilton Grand Vacations Flamingo Property in Las Vegas, NV. This role is responsible for ensuring that guestrooms, public spaces, and back of the house areas are well-maintained and attractive. The ideal candidate is a skilled maintenance professional with a passion for providing top-notch service. This position is part of an award-winning team at a newly renovated resort located in the center of the Las Vegas strip.

Requirements

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well with guests in English.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Can climb stairs and work on ladders up to 40 feet, push/pull up to 100 lbs, lift/carry up to 50 lbs, and grasp, stoop, reach overhead with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to work various hours and shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • CPO-Certified Pool Operator, required to maintain Pool & Spa needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the guestrooms, public spaces, and back of the house areas in good repair, ensuring an attractive and well-maintained property with a primary focus on guest relations and problem resolution.
  • Painting, drywall, staining, texturing (knockdown, orange peel, popcorn ceilings), with intermediate skills in drywall and painting/repairs.
  • Interacting with guests for problem resolution.
  • Basic appliance troubleshooting and repair.
  • Basic air-conditioning controls and filter changes.
  • Troubleshooting plumbing fixtures, including drain cleaning and unclogging toilets and sinks.
  • Maintaining all guestroom and public space equipment.
  • Replacing caulk, tile/grout, and performing door repairs (including locking mechanisms and hinges).
  • Inspecting rooms for pest intrusion.
  • Inspecting and replacing cosmetic appliance components.
  • Replacing light bulbs and ballasts, performing minor electrical repairs.
  • Repairing closet/drapery tracks.
  • Replacement of furniture.
  • Staining furniture and repairing nicks and gouges.
  • Replacing remote control batteries.
  • Performing touch-up paint.
  • Implementing planned scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Replacing faulty plumbing components.
  • Maintaining accurate functioning of all equipment and tools.
  • Establishing a clear line of communication with engineering leadership.
  • Assisting other maintenance staff on special projects.
  • Responding to all guest requests to ensure client satisfaction; willing to 'pitch-in' and help co-workers with their job duties and be an outstanding teammate.
  • Detailed record keeping in English for logs and inspection sheets.
  • Ensuring that every interaction with an owner/guest/team member is positive and memorable.
