About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I Worker is responsible for ensuring the facility is maintained in good repair at all times. The technician will fix and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, and interior and exterior building surfaces. This individual will paint, repair flooring, and work on plumbing, electrical, and air-conditioning and heating systems. In the event of an emergency, the technician may be called to support necessary tasks associated with that emergency. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but St. Paul’s Senior Services may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ between Building Location, depending on business necessities and site requirements.

Requirements

  • Able to perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including painting, tile, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair.
  • Able to work independently and take instructions as needed.
  • Able to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical faults in facility’s systems for which qualified.
  • Basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, etc.).
  • Required to read, speak, and write English.
  • Must enjoy and be able to work in a senior citizen environment.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • 1 year minimum experience in general maintenance including painting, tile, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances.
  • Apprentice level expertise in at least 3 of the above trades.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school courses preferred.
