About The Position

This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters. The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining production line machinery, electrical systems, refrigeration systems, plumbing, and boiler operations. Safety is a top priority, and the technician will be responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures. The position also requires accurate completion of work orders and related documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 2 years of Maintenance experience or completion of Maintenance Trainee Program at Cargill.
  • Willingness and ability to complete trainings and obtain license or certification: boiler license, forklift license, ammonia specific refrigeration training and certification.
  • Availability to work outside of normal shift up to including weekend and off shift hours as needed.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous maintenance experience.
  • Food manufacturing experience.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Production experience.
  • Ability to rebuild and repair pump valve cylinders, gear reducers, self-aligning bearings, and other related components.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and set up production line machinery using a variety of hand tools.
  • Perform duties related to hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Work with electrical systems, refrigeration systems, plumbing, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Operate boilers and manage water quality and wastewater.
  • Complete projects, preventative maintenance, and water quality inspection procedures.
  • Complete all paperwork pertaining to work orders, service call reports, and purchase requisitions.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for parts and document shift events, problems, and repairs.
  • Maintain adherence to all Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Follow and champion personal and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Report any and all concerns or violations to the Leadership Team.
