Your Role at Baxter This is where we make life-saving products Technical lead for the Central Maintenance machine shop operation. Activities to include the assistance to other machinists, area planner, and supervisor in the day to day set up, and operation of the Central Maintenance machine shop. Requirements

  • Candidate must be a self-starter, motivated, and be able to perform assigned tasks with limited supervision.
  • Candidate to be proficient in Blue Print reading, GDT experience a plus.
  • Experience G-Zero, MasterCam, and AutoCAD software
  • Candidate must have both CNC and manual machine shop equipment operation experience.
  • Read and write G code using G-Zero and Mastercam.
  • Proficient in the use of basic machinist hand tools, such as veniers, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, bore and thread gauges.
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand power tools such as drill motors, grinders, polisher/sanders.
  • Basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, and files.
  • Able to design and build work holding fixtures as required to machine one—off, and specialty parts.
  • Must use caution while working with and around moving equipment, such as, cutting machines and power tools.
  • The position requires the ability to individually lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, twist and bend at the neck, twist and bend at the waist and balance.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred a minimum of 5 years machining experience or 2-year Machinist degree.
  • Preferred experience with HAAS, MATSUURA, FEDAL or DAEWOO equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to set-up and operate all North Cove machine Shop equipment safely and efficiently. Including but not limited to: Standard, Horizontal and CNC milling machines, Standard and CNC Lathe’s, ID/OD and tool cutting grinder’s.
  • Machine parts within tolerances specified on blueprints and drawings using North Cove Machine Shop equipment.
  • Fabricate parts for the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of production machine components and assemblies.
  • Machine stock room parts for the support of equipment and processes.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and gauges to check machine and part accuracy and to assure work is within tolerances specified.
  • Assist in providing solutions for the trouble shooting of the machining of parts and the equipment, associated tooling, part drawings, and material issues.
  • Maintain all shop equipment in good working condition.
  • Keep machines and shop area neat and clean to align with 6S program.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on as assigned machine shop equipment.
  • Provide on the job training for registered apprentices as assigned by apprenticeship training program.
  • Generate part programming by applying Cad Cam software for use in the CNC shop equipment.
