About The Position

Tryfacta is seeking a Maintenance Technician (HVAC) for our client in Baltimore, MD 21201. This is a 6+ month temporary contract assignment paying $35/hr on W2 (all-inclusive). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in HVAC/HVAC-R, refrigeration, steam fitting, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Candidates with strong commercial, industrial, institutional, building, or facilities maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The Maintenance Technician (HVAC) performs intermediate-level maintenance work involving heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC-R), and steam fitting. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, alterations, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and operation of HVAC systems throughout the Camden Yards Sports Complex. The position may provide guidance to other maintenance workers and requires event coverage for football, baseball, and other campus events.

Requirements

  • 5 years of maintenance trade experience, including at least 3 years primarily in HVAC, HVAC-R, or steam fitting.
  • Experience in commercial, industrial, institutional, building, facilities, or mechanical maintenance is highly relevant.
  • Current Refrigerant Recovery Certificate – Required
  • Maryland HVAC Apprentice or Journeyman License OR currently enrolled in/graduated from an accredited HVAC certification course – Required
  • Valid Maryland Driver's License for duties requiring vehicle operation
  • Ability to obtain a Forklift License

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant vocational/technical high school training in Building Maintenance or a related field
  • Qualifying U.S. military construction, engineering, or utilities repair experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC/HVAC-R systems and equipment.
  • Maintain and repair air handlers, supply/exhaust/return fans, circulating pumps and motors, VAV boxes, unit heaters, fan coil units, and make-up air units.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment, including refrigerators and ice machines.
  • Install and service HVAC equipment and air-conditioning units.
  • Perform steam pipe and fitting repairs.
  • Replace belts and filters and clean, oil, and lubricate mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC controls and building energy management/automation systems.
  • Perform related electrical, plumbing, and general facility maintenance as required.
  • Maintain electronic work orders and timekeeping records.
  • Support vendors and contractors during maintenance projects.
  • Provide HVAC support during football, baseball, and other events.
  • May assign work to or provide guidance to unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance staff.
