About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance, a leading facility service provider in Hawaii since 1957, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician Floater. This role involves general maintenance and repairs of facility equipment, property structures, and grounds across various locations. The position reports directly to the Chief Building Engineer or the Account Manager-Engineering.

Requirements

  • Must pass HBM prescreen check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle required
  • Must have basic hand tools.
  • General preventative maintenance experience is required (Basic commercial plumbing, light electrical, H.V.A.C., carpentry, masonry, painting, and drywall).
  • Troubleshooting abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Must have good public relations skills and communication.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, press, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50lbs. (up to 75lbs.), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, walk up and down a stairway, climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout their shift.
  • Willingness to learn and improve.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and grounds maintenance
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact with property managers, vendors, customers, etc.
  • Drive to different locations to provide coverage
  • Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working in order and fixed as necessary.
  • Create and maintain work orders
  • Create and maintain purchase orders
  • Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by Hawaiian Building Maintenance supervisor/property management.
