About The Position

Self Storage Consulting Group (SSCG) is a nationwide full-service storage firm that offers expertise throughout the life cycle of any storage asset; due diligence, feasibility studies, design, build, and management. This position works out of Pleasant Grove and Springville primarily. The hours are 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday-Thursday, totaling 32 hours a week, with a pay rate of $21.50/hour. The role involves efficiently maintaining the building and grounds of the storage property, potentially across multiple locations. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, buildings, and other facilities, assisting with day-to-day maintenance activities, and ensuring the upkeep of building lighting systems, grounds keeping, security, and overall facility appearance. A critical part of this role is ensuring safe and efficient snow removal from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas to maintain access and safety during winter weather conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to operate hand tools
  • Valid Driver’s license required with access to reliable transportation
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Prior experience with maintenance
  • Maintains a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery
  • Arranges for and manages appropriate third-party contractor support as needed
  • Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 lbs
  • Frequently required to stand
  • Must be physically able to stand for long periods and be able to move about freely, stoop/bend, and walk; frequent Reaching/pulling/pushing and repetitive motions
  • Work in all outdoor conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Uphold high levels of customer service standards
  • Ensure curb appeal meets and exceeds expectations
  • Maintain grounds and exterior property on a daily basis
  • Ensure maintenance shop and storage areas are clean and orderly
  • Repairing roll-up doors
  • Ensure property, office, and bathroom are clean and organized
  • Ensure units are clean and ready to rent
  • Perform lock checks and walk the property
  • Perform routine maintenance on building interior
  • Make necessary building repairs
  • Contact and schedule vendors and contractors for work outside the scope of routine maintenance
  • Utilize facility log book and make notes as necessary
  • Inventory and track facility owned tools
  • Operate snow plows, salt spreaders, and other snow removal equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clear snow and ice from assigned areas, including roadways, driveways, parking lots, and walkways
  • Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly when snow or ice removal services are required
  • Apply salt, sand, or de-icing materials as needed to ensure safe surfaces
  • Effectively work as a team and maintain a positive environment at all times
