About The Position

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician 3 to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. As a Maintenance Technician 3, you will be accountable for performing advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of bakery production equipment and facility systems to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and production uptime. This role plays a critical part in supporting efficient operations through preventive maintenance, technical problem-solving, and continuous equipment improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation, measurement and control systems, electronics, mechanical, and/or electrical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment; or 6 years of equivalent related experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control system documentation, including P&IDs, electrical single-line drawings, loop drawings, cable routing diagrams, and machine layouts.
  • Proficiency using computers to document maintenance activities, manage work orders, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment, including power tools, lifts, forklifts, and other shop machinery.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience troubleshooting PLC software, I/O systems, and field devices in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Experience working with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in food manufacturing or similar production facilities.
  • Experience in at least three of the following areas: refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and food manufacturing process controls.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment setup, operating procedures, system functionality, and preventive maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and PLC-controlled equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation, control systems, building automation systems, and facility support equipment.
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities and major equipment overhauls to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Install, modify, test, and commission production equipment, components, and control systems.
  • Partner with production and cross-functional teams to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Support compliance with quality, food safety, GMP, regulatory, and workplace safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
