About The Position

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 to perform maintenance work in a commercial healthcare setting. This is a full-time night-shift role working Thursday through Sunday: 10:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 6:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The technician responds to service requests, performs preventive maintenance, documents completed work, and follows departmental and OSHA safety standards. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, three years of commercial maintenance experience, and knowledge of basic electricity and plumbing.

Requirements

• Three years of experience as a maintenance worker in a commercial setting.
• Knowledge of basic electricity and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Spectralink telephone calls within 30 seconds of notification and pager or overhead pager calls within one minute.
• Document maintenance work on required equipment logs, work orders, or preventive maintenance orders, and submit documentation to a supervisor or relief as appropriate.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to orders provided by the supervisor.
• Evaluate engineering service requests to determine the resources needed to resolve them to customers’ satisfaction.
• Notify appropriate Engineering department personnel when additional resources are needed due to urgency or a customer’s request for immediate work.
• Replace light bulbs and tubes according to the relamping schedule.
• Evaluate the urgency of requests and respond to the request site immediately when needed.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment and comply with departmental and OSHA safety standards.
