About The Position

This role applies electrical and mechanical skills to ensure production goals are met. The Maintenance Technician 1 will provide basic technical assistance and resolution for electrical or engineering problems encountered before, during, and after construction. This position involves troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical problems, working with fabrication and project crews, and wiring/troubleshooting single-phase and three-phase power supplies and motors. The technician will also be responsible for facility and building maintenance, conducting daily oil and lube checks on machinery, and working with senior technicians to learn about complex electrical issues. Additionally, the role requires accurate completion of necessary documents, adherence to 5S standards, and compliance with all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures. Scheduled overtime may be required.

Requirements

  • Perform work under direct supervision.
  • Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possess beginning to work knowledge of subject matter.
  • Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program or 2+ years of experience.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical and Mechanical Knowledge.
  • Record keeping on work order system (computer skills).
  • Ability to work safely with others as well as alone.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all facility and building maintenance.

  • Work with senior techs daily to learn and understand more complex electrical issues.
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.).
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work scheduled overtime as needed.
