About The Position

At States Industries, our Maintenance Tech play a critical role in keeping our highly automated manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, working independently, and driving continuous improvement. This is a highly autonomous role, with approximately 90% of your time spent working independently and 10% collaborating with fellow millwrights, electricians, operators, and equipment manufacturers. As a Maintenance Tech you will provide mechanical, electrical, and programming support for production equipment throughout our Components operation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of Millwright or industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Forklift experience or ability to become certified
  • Strong attention to detail and urgency when responding to equipment downtime
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
  • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Use hands and arms for tool and equipment operation

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on automated production equipment.
  • Replace bearings, sensors, switches, photo eyes, and related components.
  • Weld and fabricate brackets, guards, and other machine parts.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and programming of new equipment.
  • Communicate with OEMs and vendors to resolve equipment issues and manage warranty documentation.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Support machine setup and process improvements to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Train operators and team members on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Maintain your own set of tools.
