About The Position

Provide proper maintenance and repair of all buildings and infrastructure. This role involves performing general maintenance functions, recommending and implementing improvements to preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring all jobs are completed with attention to detail. The technician will utilize CMMS for work order management, perform periodic inspections of building infrastructure and equipment, and be responsible for keeping inventory and tools organized and in good condition. Additionally, the role includes repairing and maintaining secondary voltage, LP, HVAC, drinking and wastewater systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, and construction skills such as painting, masonry, roofing, and welding. The position also requires assisting in snow removal and other tasks as assigned, including after normal work hours, and coordinating with impacted partners to minimize downtime. Ensuring facilities are in safe working condition, operating various tools and equipment safely, and complying with factory specifications are also key aspects of the job.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience.
  • Skilled with Microsoft programs.
  • Must possess ability to learn to software such as a CMMS.
  • High skill level to work on the areas of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, hvac and window repairs.
  • Hold and maintain a Class B driving certification with a Hazardous material certification from the DMV in the State of California. This certification must be completed within a 6-month period of time from hire date.
  • Understanding of general mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Possess strong technical, mechanical and problem-solving skills, have the ability to deal with difficult situations, resolve issues and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Ability to hear from God and pray for people both in person and over the phone.
  • A propensity for learning and maintaining company standards, in carrying out assigned responsibilities safely, diligently, timely and with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general maintenance functions as they relate to all facilities.
  • Recommend and implement improvements of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
  • Utilizes CMMS for work order management, tracking and completion of all requests.
  • Performs periodic inspections of building infrastructure and equipment.
  • Responsible for keeping inventory and tools organized and in good condition.
  • Repair and maintain secondary voltage, LP, HVAC, Drinking and Waste water systems.
  • Address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
  • Manage problems within the building's electricity.
  • Handle basic repairs and window and door change outs.
  • Perform construction skills such as painting, masonry, roofing and welding.
  • Assist in snow removal and other tasks as assigned including after normal work hours.
  • Coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with impacted partners to assure minimal down time.
  • Ensures facilities is in safe working condition and reports potential safety issues and recommends appropriate changes.
  • Ensures tools and maintenance equipment are in working order and keeps maintenance buildings clean and organized.
  • Operate different tools and equipment such as golf carts, company vehicles, heavy equipment, forklifts, etc. in a safe manner.
  • Complies with factory specifications in relationship to equipment and material, and assures that all materials are handled according to factory recommendations and training.
  • Prepare detailed reports and initiate, complete, and close work orders.
  • Maintain proper and professional appearance according to Forest Home guidelines.
  • Perform high quality work.
