About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Lead at the St. Gertrude Campus including a Church, School, Parish Center, Parish Office and Meeting spaces. The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Requirements

• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Flexibility to respond to emergencies or off-hour requests.
• Pre-employment screening including criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, health screening, and any other screenings deemed necessary for employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with custodial duties is a plus, but will train.
• Experince with 0-Turn lawn mowers a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with janitorial duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal when needed.
• Ensure public areas such as restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and entrances are clean and in good repair.
• Assist the Maintenance Lead with light repair and maintenance projects.
• Grass cutting and Groundskeeping as needed.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards or needed repairs
