About The Position

This role assists maintenance personnel in maintaining plant grounds and equipment. The position requires the ability to use hand and power tools, communicate effectively with team members, make quick decisions, and possess basic math, reading, and writing skills for documentation. The technician will be responsible for completing work orders and troubleshooting equipment issues.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds and communicating effectively with co-workers.

  • Must be able to use hand tools and power tools to fabricate as needed.
  • Must be able to communicate with other team members for preventive maintenance.
  • Must have mental competence to make decisions quickly.

  • Must be able to complete necessary work on work orders and information on work orders.
  • Must be able to do trouble shooting with Maintenance team members.
  • Must be able to do basic wiring of 480/277 volts or less.
  • Must be able to use voltage meter on 480/277 volts or less.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot wiring problems/correct problems in a timely matter.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical systematic.
  • Must have the ability to weld, cut and fabricate as needed.
  • Reports equipment problems and safety hazards to Maintenance Manager.
  • Makes inspections on various equipment as assigned and fills out check sheets.
  • Must be able to make repairs on equipment.
  • Must have general knowledge of lathe and milling machine.
  • Must have general knowledge of plc controls and drives.
  • Must have the ability to learn to do extensive trouble shooting with all electrical controls and wiring.
  • Performs housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Reports equipment problems and safety hazards to Production supervisor.
  • Ability to get along with co-workers and be a team player.
  • Other job duties may be assigned.
  • Use PPE for safety as required by OSHA and MSDS standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic wiring of 480/277 volts or less.
  • Use voltage meter on 480/277 volts or less.
  • Troubleshoot wiring problems and correct problems in a timely manner.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Weld, cut, and fabricate as needed.
  • Report equipment problems and safety hazards to Maintenance Manager.
  • Make inspections on various equipment as assigned and fill out check sheets.
  • Make repairs on equipment.
  • Operate lathe and milling machine.
  • Work with PLC controls and drives.
  • Learn to do extensive troubleshooting with all electrical controls and wiring.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
