The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, adjusting, overhauling, and performing preventive maintenance on industrial laundry and textile-processing equipment, boilers, facility systems, and related mechanical and electrical equipment. The role supports safe, efficient plant operations by diagnosing equipment problems, completing start-up and shut-down procedures, responding to maintenance requests, and keeping accurate logs, work orders, and other maintenance records. Work may include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, hydraulic, pneumatic, boiler, and facility maintenance tasks. Higher-level technicians may provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians and help improve maintenance processes. Work takes place inside and outside a typical industrial laundry facility, with exposure to large machinery, temperature variations, noise, odors, humidity, lint, dust, cold weather, offices, and outside grounds. The role may require sustained concentration while troubleshooting or operating equipment and working with welding equipment, energized equipment, or moving machinery. Physical demands include lifting objects up to 100 pounds, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking for long periods.
