About The Position

This role is for a Maintenance Technician responsible for the upkeep and repair of machinery in a metal manufacturing environment. The technician will work with minimal supervision, performing tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of machinery including slitters, collectors, high-speed welders, conveyors, and palletizers. The position also involves maintaining pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and addressing building maintenance needs like plumbing and general upkeep. Additionally, the role requires the ability to assess and repair electrical issues, utilize a CMMS system for logging labor and parts, and adhere to quality, PPE, and safety procedures. The position may require overtime, weekend work, and participation in an on-call program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years minimum experience as a maintenance mechanic in a metal manufacturing environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice ISO9001 standards for metals manufacturing
  • PLC experience (preferred)
  • Experience with and ability to use all types of welding, cutting, machine, and hand tools (preferred)
  • Experience in high-speed packaging, welding, and mechanical power transmission (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Troubleshoot/repair machinery such as slitters, collectors, high-speed welders, conveyors, and palletizers
  • Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment
  • Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep
  • Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise
  • Familiarize yourself with our CMMS system and log labor/parts according to established expectations
  • Willing to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts as required
  • Participate in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours on off shift due to on-call program
  • Understand quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures
