About The Position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The incumbent is also responsible for the performance of various maintenance work including electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and mechanical. This includes repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment; installing and repairing audio systems, television and radio systems, satellite systems, CCTV systems, alarm systems, digital and analog control systems, audio-visual equipment systems, and paging systems. The role also involves performing maintenance painting/wall covering, and repairing and constructing carpentry structures under general supervision. The position requires maintaining and repairing refrigerator equipment, boilers, and electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment. It also involves fabricating, repairing, and maintaining equipment such as mechanical devices, motors, and pumps throughout the property, and assisting in building interface or accessory equipment as needed. The role responds to customer requests for maintenance assistance to provide courteous, timely, and expert service, and assists in the installation, removal, or relocation of electronic equipment according to established priorities. The technician fixes all property electronic equipment (except for slot machines and computers) by repairing minor damage to parts and wiring and replacing failed components. Additionally, the role involves repairing and installing structural woodwork and equipment, assisting in preparing wall surfaces for painting and wall covering, performing upholstery work on hotel and casino furniture, and installing and maintaining tile, marble floor materials, and carpet. The position also includes examining and performing preventative maintenance checks on various types of electronic equipment such as fire alarms, surveillance systems, and satellite systems. The role requires operating milling equipment, lathes, and power tools, and welding materials. It also involves performing all operations incidental to maintenance painting and carpentry to meet specifications, using manual or mechanical means under general supervision, erecting scaffolding, preparing surfaces, and mixing ingredients properly. The technician may work with electronic hotel lock systems and may be required to work with high-rise lift equipment. The position performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ related engineering experience in a hotel/casino with 750 or more rooms, OR completion of an AA Degree in a related field and five years’ related experience.
  • Thorough and in-depth knowledge of plumbing, mechanics, electrical and electronic systems, welding, refrigeration, boilers and HVAC and chillers.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Proficiency with grinder, bandsaw, cut-off saw, buffing stand, 48 inch brake, arc welder, punch press, shear, notcher, drill presses, milling machines, and lathes.
  • Proficiency with “Sencore” testing devices, i.e., oscilloscopes, tone and sweep generators, multi-meters, frequency counters, RF modulation tester, speaker loan and impedance tester, headset for line testing, voltage, and OHM meters.
  • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Proficiency with wood making machines, such as saws and shapers, jointers.
  • Proficiency with painting and wallpaper covering tools, spray guns, and rollers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all times, with customers as well as all levels of employees.
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to basic hand and power tools, lathe arc welder, and electronic testing equipment, power sprayers, power saws.
  • Able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work areas including lamp posts, parking structures, boilers, HVAC duct areas, high ceilings and attic space.
