About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring production and facility equipment is working at all times. The Maintenance Tech III will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all equipment. They will follow preventive maintenance schedules along with existing protocol including building maintenance. This role is required to be on-site 3 days at the Ottawa KS location.

Requirements

  • General knowledge required in mechanics (gears, bearings, pulleys, belts, etc.), pneumatics and electric drives.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawing, and/or schematics.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands, finger, handle, feel, communicate, and listen.
  • Occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to walk on concrete for long periods of time, lift up to 50lbs. and can climb ladders, and operate forklifts.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
  • Training requirement shall be in accordance with Mac Fastener Training Matrix.

Responsibilities

  • Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
  • Effectively perform various duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies.
  • Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance service.
  • Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and conducts scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs mechanic skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues, replace, or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Will use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Ability to comply with all safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Must possess the ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures including safety guidelines and practices.
  • All other tasks as assigned.
