About The Position

Piedmont Crossing, a vibrant continuing care retirement community dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents, is seeking a dynamic and passionate and knowledgeable Maintenance Technician to join our team. Piedmont Crossing is a premier retirement community located in the picturesque Davidson County, North Carolina. We offer a blend of small-town charm and access to the amenities of nearby cities like Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem. The Maintenance Technician II provides assistance in maintaining the property, plant and equipment of the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Formal education in a trade related field such as HVAC, Electrical Installation and Maintenance required (requirement may be waived for individuals with extensive on the job experience).
  • A minimum of five years experience as a maintenance technician preferably in the health care setting.
  • A minimum of two years experience in the health care setting required.
  • Have or have the ability to receive training and be certified by the State of Refrigeration Examiners for the use and proper handling of refrigerants.
  • Valid driver's license, and ability to meet EveryAge's auto insurance carrier's standards for coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains mechanical and electrical equipment in operable conditions.
  • Performs maintenance tasks in accordance with procedures and preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Responds to maintenance requests by Residents and Staff.
  • Maintains storage and mechanical areas in clean, orderly manner.
  • Assists in removal of trash and debris.
  • Maintains interior and exterior of all buildings.
  • Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies.
  • Constructs, repairs and maintains structures; such as, equipment, partitions and other parts of buildings, using hand and power tools according to written and oral instructions.
  • Performs electrical, carpentry, HVAC, painting, plaster, repairs and plumbing tasks as directed.
  • Performs periodic inspections of property, plant and equipment.
  • Performs landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, hedging, weeding, spreading fertilizer, mulch, sowing grass, setting out plants, watering, trimming of trees and shrubs.
  • Participates in safety, fire control, security and other matters related to Life and Safety Codes.
  • Assists in maintaining, cleaning and inspecting company motor vehicles.
