About The Position

This position consists of repairing and maintaining all recycling facility equipment, including heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, and shredders. The role involves installing new equipment, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and make improvements. The technician will be responsible for maintaining Sennebogen and Caterpillar machine handlers and performing repair work on various systems such as hydraulics, electronic/electrical systems, and mechanical systems. Basic fabrication and preventive maintenance are also key aspects of the role. The position requires completing work orders with detailed notes, identifying necessary parts, and using computers/internet for research and sourcing replacements. The job involves working in multiple positions, including kneeling, bending, crouching, and elevated in lifts for extended durations, while observing all safety requirements and leading by example. The ability to give and receive constructive feedback and work various shifts is also necessary. Other duties may be assigned by the maintenance and operations management team.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of verifiable experience related to industrial troubleshooting, maintenance and repair experience on heavy equipment or in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Responsibilities

  • Repairing and maintaining all recycling facility equipment (heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, shredders, etc.)
  • Installing new equipment
  • Performing preventive maintenance tasks
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment and industrial recycling equipment
  • Maintaining the Sennebogen and caterpillar machine handlers
  • Performing repair work on hydraulics, electronic/electrical systems, and mechanical systems
  • Basic fabrication
  • Completing work orders and keeping detailed notes of repairs performed
  • Identifying necessary parts for repairs
  • Using computers/internet to research and source part/equipment replacements
  • Working in multiple positions, including kneeling, bending, crouching, elevated in lifts, for extended durations
  • Observing all safety requirements and leading by example in working safely
  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback for coaching
  • Working various shifts if needed
  • Other duties as assigned or directed by maintenance and operations management team
