About The Position

Perform mechanical/electrical maintenance on production equipment and/or building as requested by the maintenance supervisor. In the event of absence, the position will be filled by an equal level position, Supervisor, or appropriately trained Supervisor designee. This role involves routine inspection of equipment to identify and report potential equipment failures, safety issues (personnel and/or food safety), and plant utility issues. The position also includes performing maintenance duties such as preventive maintenance tasks, repairs to maintain operational ability and integrity of process equipment, and maintaining areas outside of processing areas to meet sanitation requirements. Additionally, it involves preoperational equipment setup/maintenance and post-operational equipment teardown/maintenance on process equipment.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience preferred in mechanical diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement on motors, conveyors and pumps.
  • 3 years of experience preferred in diagnosing, repairing, and replacing faulty electrical components such as transformers, motors, controllers, circuit breakers, and wiring.
  • 3 years of experience preferred in performing scheduled inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to prevent failures.
  • High school diploma and a Trade school certification OR 4 years related experience.
  • Must be LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) Certified.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of experience in mechanical diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement on motors, conveyors and pumps.
  • 3 years of experience in diagnosing, repairing, and replacing faulty electrical components such as transformers, motors, controllers, circuit breakers, and wiring.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement on motors, conveyors, and pumps.
  • Install, adjust, and calibrate new or modified machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty electrical components such as transformers, motors, controllers, circuit breakers, and wiring.
  • Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to prevent failures.
  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify and report potential equipment failure.
  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify and report potential equipment safety issues (personnel and/or food safety).
  • Routinely inspect plant utilities to identify and report potential equipment failures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and/or assigned to process equipment.
  • Perform repairs to maintain the operational ability and integrity of process equipment.
  • Maintain areas outside of processing areas to the level of requirements of the Master Sanitation Plan.
  • Perform preoperational equipment setup/maintenance and post-operational equipment teardown/maintenance on process equipment.
  • Safely operate various maintenance power tools and measuring instruments.
  • Safely operate gas cutting and welding systems.
  • Safely operate forklifts, manual and/or electric pallet jacks (Plant Certification).
  • Maintain all required maintenance & company records and documents.
  • Maintain updates, create, and do Work Orders & Preventive Maintenance Worksheets within the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Maintain and understand how to use equipment manuals that are located within the Maintenance Library.
