About The Position

The Maintenance Tech I performs routine troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on machinery. This role involves providing labor for routine maintenance and minor repairs, responding to basic technical issues, and assisting with assigned rebuild work orders. The technician will utilize maintenance EAM software for tracking work progress and materials, identify and communicate parts needs, and perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities. Additionally, the role contributes to process development, continuous improvement projects, and upholding the company's values of Renew, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence. Safety is a critical aspect of this position, with associates expected to perform all tasks safely. The position is designated as Safety-Sensitive, meaning an associate's inability or impaired ability to perform job-related tasks could result in a direct threat to their safety or the safety of others. The role also requires maintaining a clean and "tour ready" facility status and willingness to perform other job-related tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma
  • Must have excellent safety and attendance records
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of mechanical background or 1 year as an Advanced Operator.
  • Basic experience maintaining/troubleshooting machine control systems required
  • Knowledge of OSHA Industrial Safety standards and practices
  • Good communication/documentation skills, ability to read and write English
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Ability to work at heights up to 30 ft.
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Forklift certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Welding/fabricating/layout skills preferred
  • Machine Tool experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Provide labor to assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Respond to and address basic technical issues.
  • Assist the Equipment Planner and Continuous Improvement Technician.
  • Complete assigned rebuild work orders.
  • Utilize maintenance EAM software to track all work progress and materials to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Identify and communicate parts needed to supervisor or Parts Room Coordinator.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities.
  • Participate in process development activities and projects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects.

  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner.
  • Contribute to a cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to perform other job-related work, as needed or requested.
