About The Position

SiteOne Landscape Supply is seeking a Class A Maintenance Tech to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment in a field environment. The role travels to various equipment locations and repairs engines, powertrains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems on equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, off-highway trucks, and forklifts. Applicants should be experienced in heavy equipment repair and able to identify, diagnose, and repair defects. The role also requires using a PC or tablet to run diagnostic tests and enter job information.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the yellow steel equipment industry.
• Ability to run diagnostics with computer software to resolve equipment issues.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience on equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
• Ability to weld and use a torch.
• Good communication skills.
• Above-average respect for and understanding of safety compliance, PPE, and practices.
• Valid driver's license.
• Own tools and normal equipment needed to perform job responsibilities.
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and efficiently, and interact with others professionally.

Responsibilities

• Drive to equipment locations.
• Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Inspect trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
• Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment.
• Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts.
• Troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
• Consult with other mechanics.
• Determine the parts and tools necessary to make repairs.
• Clean and service machine attachments such as winches, blades, and hammers.
• Complete shop paperwork.
• Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including the service truck.
