About The Position

This position is accountable for the maintenance, repairs, and reliability of Injection and Blow molding equipment, including ancillary systems. The role involves performing repairs and/or improvements on the line(s), as well as mold changes, preventative maintenance, and work orders as assigned. The technician will ensure proper and safe operational conditions of all production and related equipment, and may recommend, plan, repair, modify, make, install, and adjust necessary elements following a problem or project that could affect productivity. Responsibilities also include assisting in SAP/FMS improvement Work Orders, communicating with the Production Supervisor during repairs, assisting and training production employees on machine conversions or repairs, and ensuring cleanliness of equipment and related areas after repairs. The technician will communicate equipment conditions and recommendations for improvement to the Maintenance Manager and Lead, assist in maintaining spare parts inventory, and recommend Min/Max changes to parts inventory in SAP. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Maintenance Electrician with electrical problems, supporting the maintenance team with repairs, changeovers, and training, and assisting in the development of Maintenance I and Maintenance II employees. A key aspect of the role is reviewing all machine safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout) and general safety procedures, and assisting in Work Instruction creation for Production equipment. The technician is accountable for Maintenance shift calls for Blow, Injection, and Facilities while scheduled on any shift other than E.

Requirements

  • Ability to organize work, effectively and economically, within the plant’s schedule(s).
  • Good troubleshooting skills mechanically and electrically.
  • Forklift Certified.
  • Elevated Lift Certified
  • Arc Flash Training completed
  • Must be able to setup and troubleshoot both Blow molding and downstream equipment.
  • PLC and high voltage (up to 480) troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to check for and adjust machine relative heights (Sidel)
  • Mold maintenance and repairs
  • Pneumatic system repairs and troubleshooting
  • Ability to start/stop Facilities equipment to include water, air, chiller systems.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • High school diploma or general education degree; or at least one year manufacturing related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have prior maintenance/mechanical experience with either a minimum of 3 years or a certificate in maintenance.

  • Assist Maintenance Electrician in investigating electrical-related problems.
  • Assist maintenance team with repairs, change overs, and training.
  • Assists in the development of Maintenance I and Maintenance II employees.
  • Review all machine safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout) and general safety procedures (Fire/Evacuation, Accident Reporting and all aspects of the Safety Contract).
  • Assist in Work Instruction creation for all Production equipment as needed.
  • Accountable for Maintenance shift calls for Blow, Injection and Facilities while scheduled on any shift other than E.
