About The Position

Tempur Sealy is hiring a Maintenance Tech 1 to help maintain manufacturing equipment and facility functionality. The role performs electromechanical maintenance, troubleshoots equipment, responds to internal service calls, and makes repairs and adjustments. It also involves calibrating analytical equipment and measurement devices, preparing equipment for startup, and working with HVAC and plumbing systems. The technician works closely with peers across shifts and production team members, maintains a safe and orderly work area, and may work outside to keep facilities in good physical condition. Work quality is expected to meet equipment engineering and maintenance best practices. Management may assign or reassign other appropriate duties.

Requirements

General knowledge and background in HVAC, manufacturing equipment, and industrial electrical systems.
Technical skills to build, program, integrate, service, maintain, and operate PLCs used in an automated manufacturing plant.
One or more years of directly related experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

An associate degree (AAS) or equivalent from a two-year technical school studying applied trades is preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow safety guidelines and participate in efforts to achieve the organization-wide goal of zero incidents.
Observe operating devices and equipment and troubleshoot problems.
Perform electromechanical maintenance functions.
Respond to internal customer service requests and trouble calls.
Repair equipment as required.
Calibrate analytical equipment and measurement devices.
Examine the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Install and prepare equipment for startup as required.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repair or replace defective parts and install special functional and structural parts in devices.
Communicate important issues to the supervisor in a timely and effective manner.
Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions as necessary to perform duties.
Maintain housekeeping in the work area and uphold a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Work closely with shift peers and production team members.
Work with HVAC and plumbing systems to maintain facility functionality.
Work outside as needed to keep facilities in good physical condition.
Perform other related duties as required.
